Texas Education Code § 109.003
Texas Tech University System · General and Administrative Provisions
Members of the board will hold office for staggered terms of six years, with the terms of three members expiring on January 31 of odd-numbered years. Any vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term by appointment by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate.
