Texas Education Code § 51.308
Provisions Generally Applicable to Higher Education · Required and Elective Courses
A driver education course for the purpose of preparing students to obtain a driver's license may be offered by an institution of higher education, as defined by Section 61.003, with the approval of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
