Texas Insurance Code § 425.112
Reserves and Investments for Life Insurance Companies and Related Entities · Authorized Investments and Transactions for Capital Stock Life, Health, and Accident Insurers
An insurance company may invest in loans on the security of the company's own policies in an amount that does not exceed the amount of the reserve values of those policies.
