Texas Occupations Code § 651.054
Crematory Services, Funeral Directing, and Embalming · Texas Funeral Service Commission
(a) Members of the commission serve staggered six-year terms, with the terms of one-third of the members expiring in each odd-numbered year.
(b) The governor shall appoint a person to fill a vacancy on the commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.
