Texas Transportation Code § 548.304
Inspection of Vehicles · Motor Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance
The department may authorize and certify inspection stations as necessary to implement the emissions-related inspection requirements of the motor vehicle emissions inspection and maintenance program established under this subchapter if the station meets the department's certification requirements.
