Release on Involuntary Transfer of Title of Impounded Motor Vehicle

Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act · Failure to Maintain Evidence of Financial Responsibility; Impoundment of Motor Vehicle

(a) Notwithstanding Section 601.262, the court shall order the release of a motor vehicle impounded under Section 601.261 if, while the vehicle is impounded, title to the vehicle is transferred by:

(1) foreclosure;

(2) sale on execution;

(3) cancellation of a conditional sales contract; or

(4) judicial order.
